Saturday 20th June 2009 in Fordington, Dorchester
Arrive from 6.45pm, followed by Solstice Ceremony at 7pm, then BBQ & drinks from 7.30pm
LETS members, friends and family are once again invited to “chill out by the river!” at a Solstice Bonfire Party with a Vegetarian BBQ at Katy Murrell’s in Fordington, Dorchester. Anyone interested in joining LETS is also welcome.
Please bring vegetarian food to share and a bottle! You can also bring your own garden chair if you wish, plus picnic plate and cup! Any waste wood or timber to keep the fire going would also be appreciated.
As part of the evening’s celebrations there will also be a Summer Solstice Ceremony facilitated by Vicky Turner, from 7.00pm followed by the BBQ and drinks at 7.30pm.
This will be a short, simple and inclusive ceremony to honour the summer. What can you use the long summer days for to reap the rewards of at harvest time? This ceremony can be used to motivate you towards your goals for the year or just as a chance to observe the turning of the seasons amongst friends. Vicky will be looking for some willing volunteers to do some brief readings during the ceremony, preferably three women and three men – if you want to let her know in advance that you’d like to be involved, please call Vicky on 01305 759483 or email flamekeeper@hotmail.co.uk.
Katy is looking for helpers for the evening who will be paid in Marts for their time. We look forward to seeing you there at Katy’s, 46 Holloway Road, Fordington, Dorchester. For directions etc call Katy on 01305 262253.
P.S. AS ALWAYS, LETS MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO BRING STUFF TO TRADE SO REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR LETS CHEQUE BOOK TOO!!!
By the way, Susie says that “Folk who are coming may like to be aware that the Dorchester Carnival Procession starts at 6pm so quite a few roads in the Town Centre will be closed from about 5.45pm for about an hour. Also, if anyone has any energy left after the BBQ, there’s a great FREE concert in the Borough Gardens from 7.30-10pm by a band from Kent called The A Listers who do a wide range of music from the 1960s through to present day! Wander up and join us if it fits in.” – So thanks for that Susie!

We’re really looking forward to the veggie bbq as Katy’s parties are always great, and especially intrigued about the Summer Solstice Ceremony with Vicky as I don’t usually do many ceremonies but sounds like a lovely way to make some positive intentions for the harvest which is just what I need now actually!!! : )
