I have a disabled friend living at West Moors. She desperately needs to join a local LETS group to get help with things I can’t do for her e.g., plumbing and chicken/cat minding and can offer skills such as needlework, cooking, embroidery (including badges), dressmaking, bespoke jewellery, even corsetry.
However she has been able to discover or make contact with a local group. Is there one? What are the contact details?
OR Is there anybody on the Dorchester LETS who could travel that far and attend to her blocked and leaky pipework?

Hi Chris
I do know West Moors; I wonder if by any chance Ferndown has a LETS group? That’s not too far away. I might be in the Ferndown area on Monday evening (20th July); I could ask the Chairlady of the Positive Living Group (who lives there) if she knows.
Bournemouth certainly has a LETS group (I used to belong) but is’s quite a way. Wimborne would be much nearer, but quite an upmarket place. Again, I’ll be with Wimborne friends on Tuesday so they might know.
One would need a car from either Wimborne or Ferndown to West Moors as I don’t imagine bus services are very frequent. I could also ask the Positive Living chairlady if she knows anyone who’d like to volunteer, even if not on Lets.? As time is a bit short maybe give me a ring if you’d like me to follow any of these suggestions up.

She has been trying to join the Bournemouth- based Wessex LETS for some time but to no avail. Maybe they are weak on the admin side. As we now seem able to trade inter-group, would it make sense for my friend to join our LETS and do most of her trading with them? Or is that too complicated?

URGENTLY OFFERED ON LETS – EARLY JULY 2009:
Tamara de Bardi has Cherry-Plums on a very high tree in her garden in Dorchester… This is a very urgent appeal for anyone who can and wants to make wine/jam/chutney out of these wonderfully ripe, but very high cherry-plums. It is urgent because they are now beautifully ripe, and are on offer only to LETS members. They won’t last, as the wasps/birds/falling will get them very soon!
Tamara has a ladder for anyone brave enough, or if you prefer to bring your own you are very welcome!

PICK YOUR OWN APPLES OFFERED!
You can come and pick them yourself fresh from our apple trees in central Dorchester, best now in September/October I think before they all fall off! There’s far too many for Stu and I and we have 2 different trees so one tree has COOKING APPLES and the other has EATING APPLES.
Marts are negotiable as we just don’t want them to go to waste like they usually do and we didn’t have much luck storing them in the shed last year!
